Mission Statement

Polinivo is established in 2021, as a spin-off company of Ghent University. We build on years of experience in research and development, and bring together the latest innovations in chemical engineering and biotechnology.

Our main focus is on new sustainable polymer production methods :

  • Using renewable monomers
  • Ensuring recyclability
  • Optimizing energy-savings
  • Preserving economic feasibility
  • Bringing cross-industry innovation (chemicals, pharma, engineering)

Generic framework

The framework can be applied to both organic and inorganic network polymer synthesis. Novel accessible molecular descriptors allow to largely improve our understanding of the impact of synthesis parameters on material properties

Including molecular pore size, dangling chain distribution, differentiating between ideal and non-ideal structural elements, etc.

We visualize how the initial building blocks interact timewise and spatially, accounting for variations in inter- and intramolecular chemical reactivity, diffusivity, segmental compositions, branch/network point locations, and defects
